BLENHEIM PALACE
Visit our nearby World Heritage Site with over 300 years of history, most notably the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Stroll in Capability Brown’s landscaped garden and attend exhibitions, concerts, open-air cinemas and even jousting.

WALKING
There are some wonderful countryside walks around Ramsden and our village website is the best place to go for local routes.

COTSWOLD WILDLIFE PARK
Travel by mini train around the landscaped parkland to see over 260 species, including giraffes and rhinos. Stroke animals in the children’s farmyard, explore the adventure playground and feed the penguins in the walled garden.

HOOK NORTON BREWERY
Visit one of favourite places: Hook Norton Brewery and experience the sights and sounds of brewing the Hooky way. Book onto a brewery tour, pop in for breakfast or lunch in our Malthouse Kitchen and browse their brewery shop & museum.

OXFORD
Explore the spires of one of the oldest, most famously beautiful English cities in the world. Visit the University Colleges, have a picnic and go punting down the River Cherwell and enjoy the arts of the theatres, galleries and Ashmolean Museum.

COTSWOLDS DISTILLERY
How about a day out to the Cotswolds distillery in Stourton for their award-winning Tour & Tastings, giving you a detailed account of how they craft their award-winning spirits, where you’ll be able to see (and smell!) the processes in action.

FARMING
For those wanting a taste of the countryside be inspired, educated and connected to farmers at FarmED, pay a visit to Jeremy Clarkson’s infamous Diddly Squat Farm Shop and take the family to the historic Cogges Manor Farm in the heart of Witney.

NORTH LEIGH ROMAN VILLA
Take a walk around the local Roman ruins, previously a luxurious Roman courtyard villa in the Evenlode Valley, but now under the care of English Heritage and open to the public to explore for free.

BURFORD
In addition to our local market town of Witney and train station village of Charlbury, climb the high street of the historic, quintessential Cotswold village of Burford to view the beautiful surrounding countryside and visit the antique shops.
